So I went to a meeting tonight about networking and my goodness that I learned a lot. I'm going to share it with you in just a second How you doing today? This is a daily grateful by the way I'm Michael crows and I haven't been around in a couple of days and I apologize for that but things have been going on man Just things have been going on and I hate it But sometimes when things just start going on what we're here. We're back.

We're on schedule things are gonna change soon I want you to know things are gonna change soon, but we're Letting a rough edge is dragged ill soon. We're smooth. What is networking? Yeah, if I'm gonna come on here and talk about networking I guess I should just you know tell you a little bit about what it is It's an event gathered to you know design for individuals to interact and establish professional and personal Relationships that second one is kind of important They these events provide I'm reading this now off of the notes opportunities for people to share information gain insights Build connections and all kinds of stuff like that.

What are different networking events? What are they exactly? Well, there's conferences. I go to conferences.

I go to podcasting conferences. I go to horticultural conferences I do that then there's meetups. You ever seen meetup.com You should look that up in your local town meetup.com because they have a list of all kinds of things happening You know where you live as a matter of fact and you can go to these things and network a lot of professional organizations Post on meetup businesses all kinds of then there's networking luncheons and dinners I started going to something called gosh in 2007 when I became a single I started You know, I said, okay, what am I gonna do? What this house?

I'm just gonna sit my ass in this house and do nothing. No, I want to meet people So I went to something called the Tuesday night meeting that was put on not don't know if it was called that That's what everybody called it probably have a different name But there was a guy named Chris who ran the thing and he would have different speakers come in and they would speak And then there'd be a bunch of us sitting there This was like at a restaurant and we could order food and then we'd hang out with each other afterwards meet each other I have relationships in my life that were established in 2007 when I went to the very first of those meetups and Started hanging out there. It was very I personal relationships lots of personal relationships and business relationships Mostly personal relationships that at one time were business relationships Industry seminars and workshops that is one trade shows and expos. That's another job fairs career fairs never been to one Okay, but I understand are pretty good professional association meetings.

I've been to a ton of those Okay, I was on the board of directors for a couple of statewide organizations So I went to a lot of those meetings round table discussions Been to some of those actually got paid to go to some of those Social mixers and happy hours. I've been to some but not as many as one might think Okay, just not as many as one might think now How does gratitude come into this well when you are expressing gratitude at all of these things that are going on It helps to develop a stronger and actually in my opinion more authentic relationship. It really does Acknowledging someone's help and advice and thanking them for it. Man.

It leaves a really positive opinion It provides an opportunity to just support more network encouraging I can't say the word reciprocal. Why can't I say that word reciprocal there? I said it. I'm not even at that out I'm just gonna keep going with it thanking connections for introductions for opportunities You meet people these things.

You're grateful that you meet them You let them know that you're grateful for meeting them the speaker that I saw tonight went to one of these things and she learned a new Recipe for banana pudding. I've never had banana pudding she loves banana pudding and there's lots of recipes for banana pudding I learned something new every damn day and she went to a thing that at a film festival where they were talking and she learned a New recipe and got that she's all excited about it to this day And she shared that recipe at other places, which is kind of good since I've never had banana pudding I just don't have an opinion All right a grateful attitude makes you more approachable when you're grateful people like you for being grateful When I ran into people in business that were grateful and you could tell that they are grateful They were grateful for the opportunities that they had People just respond to that and when I do something professionally for somebody I thank them for allowing me to do that and I'm genuine about it when you're genuinely grateful people respond to that and You know what when somebody tells you that you did something wrong or they criticize you I'm grateful for that too. It just really really helps. Where's my voice tonight?

I swear this is beyond belief Regularly practicing gratitude in your networking efforts can increase your sense of satisfaction and that other weird thing that I hear everybody talking about Your sense of well-being. I still don't know what the hell that is, but you know what you're going to increase it by being grateful It makes you a more positive and effective networker All right, what am I gonna talk about tomorrow? You know what I forgot to talk about on Thursday last week I forgot to talk about podcasting hmm. I will do that this coming Thursday.

Have an outstanding day
