What Is a Worldview?

from Altars and Ashes Podcast · host Austin W Tucker, B.D. Fleming, and Robbie Stringer

Everybody has a worldview. The question is whether yours bows before Christ or an idol. In the opening episode of our new short series, Foundations of Christian Worldview, Austin Tucker, B.D. Fleming, and Robbie Stringer examine the basic framework through which every person understands God, man, truth, goodness, and the purpose of life. No one approaches reality neutrally. Every man trusts an authority, worships a god, and believes some story about what has gone wrong with the world and how it can be saved. From secular education and therapeutic individualism to materialism and modern politics, every worldview has its own creation, fall, gospel, and promised kingdom. Remove the living God, and you haven’t removed religion. You’ve simply changed gods. Christ is not Lord over some small religious corner of life. He is Lord over education, government, business, beauty, marriage, technology, the household, and every square inch of creation. A worldview used only on Sunday isn’t a worldview. It’s a hobby. The battle begins with a simple question: By what standard? Stand firm. Build faithfully. And let your household blaze as an altar to the King.
