What Is Church Discipline?In this episode we define church discipline as "a form of punishment practiced publically in the body of Christ aimed at the restoration of a church member that is in active rebellion against God’s word and commands. Church discipline is not the prohibition of an individual from attending meetings or church gatherings, rather it is a formal act of removing someone from church membership thus prohibiting them from partaking of the sacramental rights of believers for their own good and God’s Glory." We dive into the popular teachings of Matthew 18 where Jesus explicitly teaches church discipline and 1 Corinthians 5 where Paul explicitly practices church discipline.
