EMDR Chicago-Paula Merucci, MSW, LCSW, CADC, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and an EMDRIA Approved Consultant and Certified Therapist in EMDR. Paula gets into her own personal motivations for being in the mental health and substance abuse field. We begin talking about the origins of EMDR as who created it, how it was developed, and how it has as evolved over time. We got into many great discussions around EMDR therapy as it relates to an optimal trauma and PTSD therapeutic intervention. Paula discussed vital screening tools to help her gain understanding on where the client is as it comes to their own trauma and dissociation.
