What is Frangipani?

What is Frangipani? That's a question I get asked all the time. well actually I really ever get that question, but a lovely lady sent me a picture of one that her husband had found in the Everglades and gave to her and she just loved it but wanted to know more about it. Since her husband is a horticulturist I found it odd that she was asking me but then again I'm an odd person and I bring things out in people once in a while. It is actually a plumeria that would be the Latin name for it and surprisingly enough I have one in my front yard. how strange that?  She and I have this in common.  The older I get the more I  see things intertwined.
