As a graduate student, Jason had a damaging experience with a Black male mentor who shunned and mistreated him, leading Jason to become distrustful of other Black professionals. However, Dr. Branch then found other incredible mentors who championed him, provided invaluable support, and helped him develop the confidence to become the successful professor and clinician that he is today.Lifework: Challenge yourself to confront past hurts and traumas, even from those who are supposed to be supportive.
