What is it like to regret having children?

from Primedia Broadcasting · host Primedia Broadcasting

Guest: Khosi Jiyane, Clinical Psychologist Host: Linzi Bourhill, Cape Talk, Late Nights Show Topic: What is it like to regret having children? In most cases it is a mutual agreement between both parties that they are ready to conceive and start a family. Sometimes before the baby is even born, the couple split and the mother is left alone to take care of the baby because the father feared of the responsibilities or the couple is just not ready to be take care of another human being. It's a huge taboo, admitting this kind of thing, but there's a growing and largely ignored group of mothers all over the world who are confessing their regret over having children. Day after day, as they change diapers, drive to soccer practice, and help with college applications, they fantasize about a life unburdened by dependents and free from the needs of others. A do-over.
