What Is Sacrificial Giving?

Giving away our resources often feels completely counterintuitive. We naturally want to hold tightly to what we have, building a comfortable safety net for the unknown days ahead. Yet, Jesus invites us to view our earthly possessions through a radically different lens. When He watched the poor widow drop two small coins into the temple offering, He did not measure the monetary value of her gift. Instead, He measured the immense size of her sacrifice. True sacrificial giving means offering something that actually costs us a measure of comfort. It moves beyond simply giving from our leftover abundance and steps into a space where our generosity requires deep, genuine faith.
