(NIV) Psalm 113:1–3 Praise the Lord.  Praise the Lord, you his servants; praise the name of the Lord. 2 Let the name of the Lord be praised, both now and forevermore. 3 From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, the name of the Lord is to be praised. (NIV) Psalm 148:5 Let every created thing give praise to the Lord, for he issued his command, and they came into being. (NLT) Psalm 150:6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. (NIV) Luke 19:37-40 When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen: 38 “Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” 39 Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!” 40 “I tell you,” he replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.” (NIV) Luke 19:40 But he said, “If they kept quiet, the stones would do it for them, shouting praise.” (The Message) 5 Praise Stealers 1. Position 2 Samuel 6:14 Wearing a linen ephod, David was dancing before the Lord with all his might, (NIV) 2. Pride 2 Samuel 6:16 As the ark of the Lord was entering the City of David, Michal daughter of Saul watched from a window. And when she saw King David leaping and dancing before the Lord, she despised him in her heart. (NIV) 3. People 2 Samuel 6:20 When David returned home to bless his household, Michal daughter of Saul came out to meet him and said, “How the king of Israel has distinguished himself today, going around half-naked in full view of the slave girls of his servants as any vulgar fellow would!” (NIV) 2 Samuel 6:22  I will become even more undignified than this, and I will be humiliated in my own eyes. But by these slave girls you spoke of, I will be held in honor.” (NIV)) 4. Perspective 2 Samuel 6:21 David said to Michal, “It was before the Lord, who chose me rather than your father or anyone from his house when he appointed me ruler over the Lord’s people Israel—I will celebrate before the Lord. (NIV) Psalm 34:1 I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. (NKJV) 5. Pain 2 Samuel 6:6-8 When they came to the threshing floor of Nakon, Uzzah reached out and took hold of the ark of God, because the oxen stumbled. 7 The Lord’s anger burned against Uzzah because of his irreverent act; therefore God struck him down, and he died there beside the ark of God. 8 Then David was angry because the Lord’s wrath had broken out against Uzzah, and to this day that place is called Perez Uzzah. (NIV) Psalm 69:29-30 But as for me, afflicted and in pain— may your salvation, God, protect me 30 I will praise God’s name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving. (NIV)
