What Is the Kingdom of God?

The kingdom of God is the rule of God over His people in creation, established through Christ in the New Testament and now in operation in the world. More precisely, the kingdom of God is the spiritual rule of God over the hearts and lives of those who follow Him. The kingdom of God is also used in another sense in the Bible: the actual rule of Jesus Christ on earth during His future thousand-year reign. The kingdom of God has many aspects. God is the ruler of the universe; therefore His kingdom is universal. The kingdom of God also includes repentance and the new birth, by which He prepares the hearts of His children in this world for the coming kingdom.
