Sometimes people struggle with the Biblical term 'saved'. Often, this is simply because they don't quite get the concept of being lost. If I am saved, then it certainly implies that there was something I needed to be saved from. And there is. We all need to be saved from a purposeless life, from the unhappy consequences of sin here on earth, and most of all from the eternal consequences of sin after life is over - in hell separated from God forever.
