What Nolan Wells' Independent Pathologist Was Never Given

from Hidden Killers With Tony Brueski | True Crime News & Commentary · host True Crime Today

Nolan Wells case — an independent forensic pathologist examined Nolan's body and delivered his findings: cause and manner of death are both undetermined. But the pathologist also reported that he never received the neck structures from the state's examination. Without those structures, he could not determine whether strangulation occurred. Mississippi says retaining neck tissue is common forensic practice. The family's legal team says it left a critical question permanently unanswered. The state toxicology results have not been released. Three hundred people were present on Horn Island. Sixty witnesses have been interviewed by law enforcement. The three friends who were with Nolan gave statements that are backed by Coast Guard dispatch audio documenting a tow call for a sinking boat. The coroner saw no obvious signs of trauma. The DA is referring the investigation to a grand jury — which she describes as standard procedure for any unnatural death, not as evidence of suspected criminality.Eric Faddis, defense attorney and former prosecutor, walks through every piece of what is and isn't in this file and what a grand jury is realistically able to do with it.Links:Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video?
