What Our Healthcare System Can Learn from AlphaGo

from Healthcare Goes Digital · host Natalie Yeadon

Machines have recently beat humans at games of strategy like chess and AlphaGo. With AlphaGo, there are more strategic moves than there are atoms in the universe. This says something profound about how machines, through neural networks and deep learning, can replicate the brilliance of the human mind.In this video, I discuss the possibility that machines can also learn the art and creativity behind the practice of medicine and to the eventual discovery of new medications and treatment and prevention paradigms for current enigmas associated with long-time chronic diseases such as cancer and diabetes.Machines may also be able to learn how to express empathy and intuitive thinking. This invites us to ask how machines may be able to go beyond human heuristics, automaticity, cultural memes, and biases. How can we leverage AI to manifest what was never conceived as being possible in medicine? In this podcast, I explore some of these possibilities. To find out more about Impetus: https://www.meetwithimpetus.comNatalie Yeadon LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/natalieyeadon/Impetus Digital Website: https://www.impetusdigital.com/Impetus Digital LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/impetus-digital/Impetus Digital Twitter: https://twitter.com/impetus_digitalImpetus YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/ImpetusDigitalImpetus Digital has been delivering best-in-class virtual and hybrid meetings, events, and programs for global life science companies since 2008.
