What Should a Church Do? | A Healthy Church | Acts 2:37-47 | with Pastor Joshua Sanders
from Christ Community Church (Brazil, IN) · host mycccbrazil
The thing with the health industry is that there is so much conflicting information out there and it can overcomplicate trying to be healthy. You’ll have one health expert that will tell you that eating eggs is one of the healthiest things you can do. Then there is another expert that will say that you’re going to die if you keep eating eggs! Then there are the fitness experts... You’ll get some experts that will tell you that lifting weights is bad for you, and then you’ll get some that will say that it’s the best thing you can do for your health! And then since none of these health experts can ever agree, and all of them are telling you conflicting things about your diet, it can be hard to figure out what we need to do to be healthy! Then there are CHURCH health experts... With all the resources that are out there for church leaders, it can be very challenging for pastors and church leaders to know what to do to maintain a “healthy” church. Just as health experts can overcomplicate our health and fitness, church experts can overcomplicate church health! So, what does it take to be a healthy church? In this sermon, we dive into Acts 2:37-47. We will see the first great revival of the Church. And then we will see the makeup of a truly healthy, Christ-centered, Church. Luke, the author of Acts, in these verses basically records the diet and exercise regimen of a healthy body of Christ. It is truly imperative that as we GET AFTER IT, we understand what the church is supposed to be and do.
