What Stayed When Everything Fell Away

This episode is a reflection on what it means to stay present through uncertainty, to let go of a chapter that mattered deeply without needing to justify the loss, and to confront the parts of ourselves we’ve been running from under the disguise of ambition, momentum, and becoming. Nicholas shares honestly about a year that took certainty, dismantled old illusions, and replaced urgency with something quieter and more grounded. This is a conversation about rock bottom and grace, about learning how to stay instead of escape, and about discovering that trust sometimes comes before clarity. This episode explores: • What happens when momentum slows and there is nowhere left to run • The grief of releasing something meaningful that did not fail • How ambition can sometimes mask avoidance • Learning to sit with discomfort without turning it into meaning too quickly • Integrating shadow instead of suppressing it • Letting trust come before certainty • Carrying forward what remains without forcing resolution This is not an episode about answers. It is an episode about presence. If you are ending the year feeling changed, unresolved, softer, steadier, or simply more honest with yourself, this episode is an invitation to pause with that truth instead of rushing past it. If this episode resonated with you, consider sharing it with someone who is also closing out a difficult or transformative year. Metanoia Madness will return with new episodes in the new year.
