What The Bible Says About Believer's Baptism

from Eastmont Church Weekly Teachings

Baptism was a common practice in the culture of Jesus and the early church. It is something people saw often and realized what it meant. But in the eyes of many today, the Christian ritual of baptism is kind of a strange looking thing to do. Honestly, dunking someone under water in a pool, river or water tank inside a church building looks and feels odd. However, if the meaning is explained and the symbolism is understood, then baptism not only makes a lot of sense, but it can be seen as the beautiful act that God designed it to be. So, the goal of this message is to help everyone at Eastmont Church to be fully aware of the Biblical meaning of being baptized in water (believer’s baptism) and to invite those of us who have never done so, to experience water baptism as a follower of Jesus.
