'WHAT THE HELL DO I BELIEVE?' - Rev. Dr. Marlin Lavanhar (Humanist Service)

from All Souls Unitarian Church · host All Souls Unitarian Church, Tulsa, Oklahoma

The message was delivered on Sunday, May 6, 2018, at All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, by Rev. Dr. Marlin Lavanhar, Senior Minister, at the Humanist Service. MESSAGE DESCRIPTION If my neighbor believes I'm going to hell, I don't really care as long as they respect my property, treat me and my family nicely and let me borrow a cup a sugar or a power tool when needed. The good news for me is that whatever they believe—the fact is, they don't control the universe, the afterlife, nor do they, or anyone, really know what is yet to come. When people ask me why our congregation is socially engaged, I explain that we place love beyond belief. Most, if not all of us, do not expect God or any other kind of savior or superhero to come down to Earth and fix it. That is why we try to do our part to make the world a better place during the short time we have and to help people out of the hells of life. *Music by Tommy Poole (saxophone) and Rick Fortner (piano) SUBSCRIBE TO AUDIO PODCAST: http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/all-souls-unitarian-church/id193096943 SUBSCRIBE TO OUR YOUTUBE CHANNEL: http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=allsoulsunitarian GIVE A DONATION TO HELP US SPREAD THIS LOVE BEYOND BELIEF: http://www.allsoulschurch.org/GIVE or text LOVEBB to 73256 LET'S CONNECT: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/allsoulstulsa Twitter: https://twitter.com/AllSoulsTulsa All Souls Church Website: http://www.allsoulschurch.org
