Happy Friday, fair fanatics! It's Friday, June 13th, at the San Diego County Fair, and we're kicking off a vibrant weekend celebrating our "Summer Pet-tacular" theme, along with some exciting announcements!The fairgrounds are open from 11 AM to 11 PM today, with gate entrances closing at 10 PM. Get ready for a full day and night of fun!Today is a big day for foodies! It's the grand reveal of the Fair-Tastic Food Competition winners! Plus, as it's a Friday in June, you can enjoy a special treat: the 18 finalists from the food competition will be offering their award-worthy items for half-price from 11 AM to 4 PM! It's the perfect chance to taste the best of the best!During that same time period, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., we also have our first "Game-on Friday" promotion. All carnival games during that time cost only four BlastPass credits!Our "Summer Pet-tacular" theme continues strong! Make sure to visit the Pets Rock theme exhibit, presented by Kahoots and featuring talks and adoptable animals from San Diego Humane Society.For our equine enthusiasts, today is the final day of the Charity Fair Horse Show, so be sure to catch the last rides and admire the incredible talent!And when it comes to the diverse activities and exhibits the fair offers: • Creative displays at Design in Wood, the stunning Flower Show, and the lush Garden Show. • Intricate works at Gems, Minerals & Jewelry, Home Arts & Hobbies, and captivating Photography exhibits. • Learn more about where our food comes from inside our Farm 2 U Exhibit. • You'll find various demonstrations and make-and-takes throughout the day, including Basket & Gourd, Beading, our Brewery of the Day, Chair Caning, and Culinary Demonstrations to spark your creativity and taste buds.For live entertainment that's sure to make you smile: • Catch the highly entertaining Swifty Swine Racing Pigs throughout the day. • Don't miss the All-Star Stunt Dog Show showcasing incredible canine agility and tricks!Check out the always-amazing Wilder Show. • And keep an eye out for the aerial artistry of The Flying Royals as they perform their impressive stunts! • At 6 PM, prepare for an immersive experience with the Pink Floyd Laser Spectacular at The Sound! This show requires a separate ticket. • And for our headlining concert on the Corona Grandstand Stage, get ready for a soulful evening with Maxwell at 7:30 PM! Remember, your concert ticket includes same-day fair admission, so come early and enjoy the whole fair! • Later in the evening, at the Chevrolet Paddock Concert Series, enjoy the sounds of Jesse Royal at 9 PM.
