Professor Kotlikoff is joined by Sebastian Edwards, the Henry Ford II Professor of International Economics at UCLA to discusses his fascinating new book, The Chile Project: The Story of the Chicago Boys and the Downfall of Neoliberalism. The book describes how Chile became home to the world’s most radical free-market experiment—and what its downfall suggests about the fate of neoliberalism around the globe. From 1993 to 1996 Sebastian was Chief Economist for Latin America at the World Bank. He has published 16 books, and over 200 scholarly articles. He is the Co-Director of the National Bureau of Economic Research’s “Africa Project.” Professor Edwards has also been an adviser to numerous governments, financial institutions, and multinational companies.
