Jay shared a bit of his musical journey from how he has always engaged with music and songwriting, to his work within corrections, to how he is connecting with music tech and recording since retiring. Jay Fillion has recently retired after a varied 28+ year career in the criminal justice field, primarily as a counsellor and program facilitator. During his career, a highlight was helping to start a music program with the incarcerated women at Grand Valley Institution for Women. Since then, Jay has been exploring the world of recording, producing, and living life with the saying, “what would I do if I wasn’t afraid?” We hope this episode provides you with some tools and insights to support your own journeys, and helps encourage you to set aside some of your hesitations and jump right in!
