In 2 Corinthians 4:16–5:7, Paul looks straight at a church drowning in pain and says, “I see it, but it’s not the end of the story.” This body is just a tent that’s coming down; God is already building us an eternal one. We groan now, yet the Holy Spirit inside us is God’s guarantee that the real home is coming. This isn’t pretending it doesn’t hurt—it’s refusing to let the hurt have the last word.
