Welcome to the Tweet Trends podcast. Hey, Evette, what's trending today? Hey, I'm Evette, hey girl. And you are tuned in to Tweet Trends.

It's the quickest way to find out what's trending today. Hey, it's almost 2021. What do you still need to do? Let's get started.

I don't know about you, but when I look at Christmas, I think of it as a big giant roller coaster. So go with me. Go along with me with this. Leading up to Christmas is that trick going up the hill, leading to the first drop in the roller coaster.

It's slow going. It's just chugging along. You're trying to make sure you've got everything you need for the parties and the gifts and meals and other little prep type stuff that you need to have done. And especially like self-care type stuff.

You know, are you going to get your hair done or many petty type thing? All these 50-chazillion things that need to happen before Christmas. And it seems like it sneaks up on you so fast. And then you get to that top point where it just pauses.

You sit there for a couple of seconds. That's that moment when you're getting ready to go to bed on Christmas Eve. You're like, you know what? If it didn't get done before now?

Oh, well, it's not about to get done by tomorrow. So let's just go ahead and shut it down. And then the drop. You go into that drop and that adrenaline rush that you feel is like when you wake up on Christmas morning and everything's happening and gifts are being opened and people here, there and everywhere.

And you go in around these curves and corkscrews and ups and downs and all arounds and oh my gosh, that's Christmas. That is like the for real deal Christmas. But then things start to kind of level out. It slows down some.

It's not quite as herky jerky. And then it's super smooth and you pull back into that docking station. Well, Christmas is over at that point. But then you kind of sit and you look around and realize, there's still another week before the new year comes in.

Oh my gosh, do you have everything done that you need to have done before the new year comes in? Well, that's what today's day is about. It's not about getting it all done today. But if nothing else, getting that list done so that you can make sure these next couple of days that you can make them count.

Now, I don't know if this is a southern thing or a black thing or what or just my family thing. But I was always raised to know and understand that however you leave one year, that's how you're going to spend your next year. So what that all means is that we'll go and get our cars washed. We'll wash our linens.

We'll clean our house. Clean out the refrigerator. It's like you go into the new year with a brand new, clear clean slate. And because you go into the year that way, then that's what that year is going to be like.

So if you go into it in a productive mode, then that year is going to be productive. And now I'm not going to lie. This does have me wondering what in the world happened at the end of 2019, because 2020, to be the way that it was. But I know that it wasn't any one thing that I did.

It had to have been a collective thing. So yeah, what did the world do at the end of 2019 for 2020 to be like this? But I can't even knock it though, because there were some really great things that came out of 2020, that it just made me a little hard to see and understand and believe and know and recognize, because there were so many really stinky things that happened. And you're just kind of like, oh, really, seriously?

But so I don't know if that's what you subscribe to, that you have to do these little things leaving this year to go into the next year and to have a better outlook for it. But yeah, I am way behind the eight ball, because when you think about it, with Christmas, you get all this new stuff and it adds to your stuff. And so now you kind of have to do a purge to get rid of stuff so that you can make room for the new stuff that you got so that everything will have a place by the time the new year comes in, so that you're not just in complete chaos for the next year. So yeah, I've got my work cut out for me.

So at this point, it's a little too late to read a book about productivity and how to be better at it and getting things done. Personally, I have a list of 25 things just for today that I would like to get done. And unfortunately, as much as I love technology, I am a paper pencil type of person. I have these things written down on a sheet of paper and I'm crossing them off, but I can't even begin to tell you how good it makes me feel to scratch something off of the list.

So I'm about to go plowing through this list as soon as I finish this recording and posting it, because I have got to have that feeling of just victory come the end of the day. So I know I'm not gonna get all 25 of the items done, some stuff we'll carry over to the next day, but getting some of the stuff done is better than just sitting around and wondering, what in the world did I do all day? Because pretty much that's what I can say about my morning. I've gotten a couple of things done, but I don't know.

So I really don't have any real set-in-stone process for getting things done other than just getting out there and getting it done. I don't know. So I would love for you guys to share what it is that you do that helps you to make sure that you are productive whenever you have a to-do list, like the one that I have going into the new year. That was today's episode and I am honestly really interested in knowing what it is that you do that helps you to be productive.

So hit me up on Twitter, IG, YouTube, Facebook at HEVET. That's at HEY, E-V-E-T-T-E, or just look for the hashtag tweet trends. Now, before I go, I do wanna give a shout out to all of the BTS fans out there. Now, so I was looking to see what was trending on Twitter and what was it?

It's Kim Tehung's birthday and he's one of the members of BTS. If you don't know anything about K-Pop, then you probably don't know anything about BTS, but it's kind of difficult to not know about them because when they're fans, when I say they go hard, they go hard. Out of 10 things trending, the top five things deal with Kim and the fact that it's his birthday today. So I'm gonna join the bandwagon and wish Kim Tehung a happy birthday and BTS fans big ups because you guys are super duper awesome.

As for me and tweet trends, I'll see you guys on Thursday.
