It’s true the capital gains increase will affect very rich people but also a specific segment of the middle class - people who have family cottages that they have owned for a long time that they would like to keep in the family - that is a situation that can spark a lot of family strife and this makes it more complicated. EVICTIONS IN LONG TERM CARE: WHAT LEGAL RIGHTS TO RESIDENTS HAVE? Libby is now joined by Joyce Dodge, a  92 years old resident of Chartwell Heritage Glen Retirement Residence who received an eviction notice on March 19 and Graham Webb, Executive Director of ACE. What rights do tenants of retirement homes face if they face eviction notices from the company that owns it? We look to a case in Mississauga taking place now.
