What You Need To Know About The National Consumer Assistance Plan

The National Consumer Assistance Plan (NCAP) was established by Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion to improve credit report accuracy and consumer dispute processes. It introduced reforms such as a waiting period for medical debt reporting, enhanced dispute resolution for identity theft, removal of non-contractual debts from reports, and requirements for original creditor information. Additional free credit reports and a working group to review policies were also established.
