A Melbourne Cup day interest rate rises remains a "live possibility" with new Reserve Bank governor Michele Bullock warning she'll do whatever it takes to tame inflation. While a 13th interest hike is far from locked in next month, Ms Bullock says that if inflation looks like becoming entrenched the RBA board will need to push the rates button once again.
