As human beings we have an innate need for social connection and community. When we are connected, we are less stressed and we are happier. When things fall on bad times, we rely on our friends and family to help us through these painful moments.    However, with that being said, functional and rewarding relationships do require effort and commitment from both parties. A healthy and productive relationship is like a dance between two people who are willing to put in the effort. Each person is responsible for helping and lifting each other up.
