What's the difference between proactive and reactive?

from Transformed Life 2 Min Encouragement · host Daniel C Clark

What's the difference between proactive and reactive? Well, reactive is pretty apparent. It's like you step on a landmine, and next thing you know, things are going terribly; you're in drama. Proactive means that you're filtering what you're experiencing, particularly if they're words being said to you, and you decide to calmly decide how to handle them without being reactive or going over the top. It can be difficult, but reactive is a knee-jerk reaction. And proactive means that you have the plan to think through what you're going to do, especially when it's a surprise. Practicing being proactive takes a lot of work, and how you handle things is based on your ability to be calm at the moment. I love you. I'm Dan Clark.
