What's the Recipe? | Missional Ingredients | Acts 11:19-30 | w/ Pastor Joshua Sanders
from Christ Community Church (Brazil, IN) · host mycccbrazil
How many of you have ever tried to cook a new recipe but found out halfway through that you were missing a key ingredient? Maybe you were making cookies and realized you didn’t have any baking soda. Or you were prepping to grill burgers and forgot the hamburger buns. It’s frustrating to be missing ingredients, isn’t it? You can’t move forward without the essential ingredients you need for a recipe. Cooking without the right ingredients leads to a disappointing result, and sometimes we don’t realize how important those ingredients are until they’re missing. The same is true in the church. There are essential ingredients that make us who we are called to be, and without them, we miss the mark. In this week's sermon we will be finishing off chapter 11 of Acts. We are going to dive into verses 19-30. In this passage, we’re introduced to the church in Antioch. This wasn’t just any church. It was a church on a mission—in other words, it was a missional church. And when we say "missional," we're talking about a church that was actively living out the Great Commission. This church had all the right ingredients to make a real impact as they GOT AFTER IT for the Kingdom of God. And in this sermon we explore what those ingredients are as we look at the example of the church in Antioch.
