What's Your Poison?

Amaretto Sour by Jeffrey Morgenthaler 1 1/2 oz Amaretto* 3/4 oz Cask-Proof Bourbon 1 oz Lemon Juice 1 tsp 2:1 Simple Syrup 1/2 oz Egg White Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake without ice or (even better) use an immersion blender to combine and froth. Add ice and shake. Strain over fresh ice into a large rocks glass, garnish with a twist of lemon and maraschino cherries. *Use Frangelico instead of Amaretto for a Frangelico Sour Arsenic and Old Lace 2 oz Gin 3/4 oz Dry Vermouth 1/4 oz Creme de Violette 1 Barspoon of Absinthe Add ingredients to a mixing glass and stir well with ice to chill and dilute. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with an expressed twist of lemon or orange peel.
