Rand is laying on the ground of the palace garden, with his head ringing. Elayne immediaetley has a crush on Rand, and Rand on her in return. We also get to meet a brand new, and large cast of characters, including Queen Morgase, Gareth Bryne, Elayne, Gawyn, Galad, Elaida Sedai, and more. The introduction and subsequent interrogation by Morgase and Elaida scares the hell out of Rand, and he barely makes it out of there with out ending up in prison. Elaida has an important foretelling that we talk about a bit. And unbeknownst to them, all of these newly introduced characters are likely now pulled snugly into Rand's Ta'veren web.
