When A Sociopath Kills Her BoyfriendTiniko Thompson, who had been found guilty of second-degree murder in the death of her boyfriend, former Miami Police officer Carl Patrick, was sentenced to life in prison. Tiniko Thompson, aged 48, was convicted in August 2014. Judge Jeffrey Cohen stated during the sentencing hearing that the defendant would be sent to the custody of the department of corrections for the rest of her life. Following the judge's decision, family and friends of the deceased police officer embraced each other while Patrick's mother was moved to tears.Lucile Patrick, the mother of the deceased officer, described her son as a good man who had loved Thompson, but he could not see the "ugly" in her. According to prosecutors, Thompson shot Patrick inside their Pembroke Pines home and left him to die. Thompson claimed that Patrick had been abusing her and that the fight that day caused her to have a miscarriage. However, during a previous "Stand Your Ground" hearing, Thompson had admitted to the shooting but claimed that it was self-defense. Her attorney had requested a 25-year sentence for his client, but the judge ultimately delivered a life sentence. At the sentencing hearing, Thompson stated that she had defended herself and had no intention for Patrick to die.#policebodycams #bodycam #bodycamarrest #realbodycam #detectiveTrue Crime: The Court of Public Opinion Podcast:  Join the Podcast and dive deeper into the chaos of real-life crime with Alexis Knight!
