When Being Good Isn't Good Enough
from Open House Church Sermons · host John Westendorp
Cornelius fears God, gives generously, prays continually and cares for his household, yet his goodness cannot save him. God sends Peter to announce peace through Jesus, who was rejected, raised, and will judge the living and dead. Everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness and His perfect goodness. The Holy Spirit confirms that non-Jews also belong in Christ’s church, and baptism marks them as sinners washed clean by grace. Faith then keeps learning from Jesus and lives in thankful obedience. Bible References: Acts 10:1–8, 23–48 Preacher: John Westendorp
