I'm playing Breath of the Eye, I'm thinking about the map size, and I was thinking the game's map size is for 27, or as an example, I think it's the same size as Manhattan, which is strange, because I imagine Manhattan to be smaller. Like, that's my perception of kilometers, or on the mouse where it is like skewed, and I was thinking about the game in the sense that one who hasn't played the game just sees like, they just think of like a square or the rectangle that the map, like, do the map can be viewed as if that makes sense. Like, when you open the map in a video game, you think of that as the map, and subconsciously someone who's played the game also thinks of the terrain that can be traversed as a map. So what I mean by that is, if you have a mountain, you can not climb, you can sort a climb, it's part of the map in the sense that you can like go over it, you can climb it.
If you have a mountain that you can't climb at all, in the way we don't think of that as a map, we think of that as an T-space. So we don't count it in the map space, we might look like it is in the map space, and so subconsciously with you, like in the Breath of the Wild, when we scale a mountain, we imagine that as like way more terrain than it actually is, because it takes more time to traverse. And I think that psychologically that's so interesting that it should be held to the same regard as people like, or as it doesn't scare us, people like to care about like, map size, and the like, mouse squared way, if that makes any sense, like how you feel, how big you feel like a map is, and filled with shit, that's insane. Because there's big games like Elite Dangerous is the perfect example of a game that feels massive, and the thing with Breath of the Wild is it's one big open space, no loading screens, and no like changing wounds in a game sense, and Elite Dangerous just has figured out a way to make shit big, but not big to the point of the galaxy, it's just that they have a big enough play space that people never actually like push it past or certain point, and if someone does, which people have done from what I've seen, it's like the game kind of tricks you into thinking about the map is huge, but it isn't, but it does represent the galaxy.
So in the sense it is as big as you think it is, because it's made to be as big as the galaxy, so you wouldn't, you would not use fast travel, if it makes sense, like the war being out of the game, like the game would be unpliable without that, because the galaxy is so big, that's why like, no one out fucking talking to aliens right now, it was like Alexia so fucking big, like an alien is just an intelligence speechy that's somewhere else, but like it would be like a possibly far away from us, like of course I'm not gonna find another there, and so yeah, like traversable land, traversed land is the land that actually can't actually be traversed in the sense that a member that's not climbable in some way, if you don't have a plane in your game, you don't have climbing, if you don't have any way to discover certain part of the mountain, and that's the way, like how long you don't understand how long I've been trying to get to go to the village, like it feels like a long time, I've had that be a long time, it's semi. And so I'm gonna climb a bit, you walk.
