When can you exercise post-concussion? (EP75)

from The Concast · host Conor Collins

One of the most challenging things for individuals that have suffered a concussion is a return to their pre-injury status. For each person this may look a little different. Some may want to return to professional sports, while others want to return to work, school or simply spend more time with their grandkids. While all of these activities may look a little bit different they are grounded in a similar foundation of re-adaptation of a system and its elements. One of these adaptations is the brain’s ability to withstand the stressor of cardiovascular exercise.During this episode I discuss some of the principles behind progressing patients through cardio vascular exercise, resistance exercise as well as a few things I do in the clinic to help facilitate the process post-concussion.If you’ve had a concussion what has helped with your return to pre-injury status?Comment below and we will see you in the next one!
