When Earth Speaks: Gaia Theory, Disasters, and Mother Nature's Wake-Up Call?

Fires, floods, earthquakes and cyclones seem to be happening all the time now, and with ever-more intensity. This year has seen records being broken in many areas in terms of the frequency and intensity of such events. At least where human beings are concerned, these are records that aren’t to be wanted. Yet, can we pin all of what’s happening on global warming, and might Mother Nature herself be telling us that it’s time to take serious note of how we’re impacting her natural order? These are the questions we’ll explore in the latest edition of Impact! as we delve into Gaia Theory, examine how interconnected Earth systems and human activity influence disaster risk, and get specific on what might really be behind these awesome phenomena.
