WHEN FAITH DEMANDS SACRIFICE

Devotional Message: Scripture: "By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice. He who had embraced the promises was about to sacrifice his one and only son." — Hebrews 11:17 (NIV) Faith is beautiful when it brings blessings, but it’s tested when it asks for surrender. Sometimes, trusting God will require you to let go of what you love most—your comfort, your plans, your security, or even something you’ve prayed for and received. Abraham’s faith wasn’t proven when he received Isaac—it was proven when he was willing to place Isaac back into God’s hands. Sacrifice in faith says, “God, You are worth more than anything You give me.” The truth is, God never asks us to surrender something to leave us empty. He asks so He can reveal Himself as our ultimate source. Every act of faith-filled sacrifice becomes a doorway to deeper intimacy with Him and greater spiritual reward. Today, ask yourself: Is there something I’ve been holding back from God? Do I trust Him enough to give it up if He asks? Prayer: Almighty Father, give me the courage to obey even when it costs me. Help me see that nothing I give to You is ever truly lost. May my faith be proven genuine in both receiving and surrendering. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
