When God Answers No (Rom 8.26-28) - 4-30-23

I. God may answer “no” even when we have good intentions but it’s not our assignment. 1Ch 17:1-4II. God may answer “no” when we want to give up. 1Ki 19:3-5 III. God may answer “no” when we ask amiss. Luk 9:51-56 and Jas 4:1-3 IV. God may answer “no” to keep us humble. 2Co 12:7-10 V. God may answer “no” because He has a different assignment for us. Act 16:6-10 VI. God may answer “no” when we ask Him to choose another. This is when we try to reject God’s calling on our life. Exo 4:12-15 and 1Co 9:16 VII. God will answer “no” when it’s the only way. Luk 22:39-42 Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice. He paid the full price for the pardoning of our sins. It was the only way. It took someone who was fully human and fully God to do what no other could do. You and I are blessed because God said no, there is no other way.So the next time you or I hear a “no” from God, I pray we have a “nevertheless” moment and realize that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose according to Romans 8.28. So the next time you or I hear a “no” from God, I pray we have a “nevertheless” moment and recall what God said. Isa 55:8-9 ESV For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD. (9) For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.I pray when you and I hear a “no” from God, we will have a “nevertheless” moment and say, “LORD, I trust You. Here is my request. Nevertheless, not my will but you will be done.” You know what is best for me.Amen.
