Simon the Sorcerer & the Danger of Wrong MotivesKey Passage:Acts 8:9–24Simon the sorcerer believes and is baptized, but later attempts to buy the power of the Holy Spirit with money. Peter rebukes him sharply. Key Themes:False motivesSpiritual prideInfluence vs. purity of heartMajor Takeaway:You can desire spiritual things while still having impure motives.Real-Life Application:This is a warning for anyone in ministry, leadership, or public influence:God cares deeply about the condition of the heart.Platform without purity is dangerous.Ministry must flow from surrender, not ambition.5.
