When God’s Goodness Looks Like Affliction

What if the difficult circumstances in your life are not evidence that God is against you, but evidence that He is trying to lead you back to Himself? Manasseh repeatedly rebelled against God, ignored His warnings, and eventually experienced the painful consequences of his choices. Yet in his affliction, he humbled himself, called on God, and discovered that God was still willing to hear and restore him. Sometimes God’s goodness looks like grace and mercy. Other times, His goodness allows us to experience the consequences of our choices so that we will recognize our need for Him. Affliction does not have to destroy us. In God’s hands, it can lead us to repentance, restoration, and a return to His ways. If you or someone you know is struggling with the consequences of past decisions, this message is a reminder that it is never too late to humble yourself, turn to God, and follow His way.
