"When Life Breaks Down, Look to God" Micah 6v9-7v7 [16th Aug 2026]

Main Idea: When everything around us seems to be falling apart, God calls us to see sin seriously, trust His justice, grieve what is broken, and ultimately look to Him for salvation. TEACHING NOTES: JUSTICE - God Sees What Others Don't (9-12) • “The voice of the LORD cries to the city…” - Micah 6:9 • God cares about what happens in everyday life-not only in worship, but in our work, money, relationships, business and integrity. JUDGMENT - We Eventually Reap What We Sow (13-16) • “Therefore I strike you… because of your sins.” - Micah 6:13 • God's judgment is not random. It is His righteous response to persistent rebellion. LAMENTATION - Grieve What Sin Destroys (1-6) • “Woe is me!” - Micah 7:1 • Micah does not celebrate the collapse of his society. • He grieves. • God's people should never enjoy watching people destroy themselves. HOPE - LOOK TO GOD (7:7) • Then everything changes: “But as for me…” • Micah cannot control his culture. He cannot control the leaders. He cannot control his neighbours. He cannot control his circumstances. • But he can decide where he will look. “I will look to the LORD.”
