When Light Hurts Your Eyes: Light Sensitivity or Photophobia

When light enters the eye, it causes a chemical reaction in the back of the eye. If the rods and cones in the eye do not recover efficiently from the reaction, the eyes may become painful, watery, or uncomfortable.
