When Light Shines

The Advent story tells us of a prophecy fulfilled; that light will shine in the darkness. To those walking in darkness, it is peace, comfort and safety. Most of the time, light is a good thing. But here's the funny thing about light; it is often most beautiful when surrounded by darkness. Going from a well-lit room to another well-lit room isn't shocking. But when we are in total darkness, even the smallest hint of light brings hope. Have you ever felt like you were walking in darkness? How did that feel? What was the source of light that brought you out of it? Like the Biblical authors, Dr. Seuss uses the imagery of light well in his story of the Grinch. Who was walking in darkness, and what was the light that brought transformation?
