When Nature Messes with Texas
from The Freak Show · host Cyrex & Super Elsy
It’s… a bad time… We’re talking quite a bit today about the Texas storms & subsequent power crisis. Texans have been hurting as a result of these storms coupled with the state’s leadership’s commitment to keeping their power grid deregulated. This prioritization of profits over people has lead to many deaths & millions without food, water, or warmth. We also talk about right-wing responses, especially that of Cancun Cruz, the so-called Senator of the Lone Star State. We reminisce about children’s shows we used to watch, such as Arthur, The Big Comfy Couch, & Teletubbies. Also, the fancy insurrection-themed dinner to endorse Senator Mike Lee, & the hilarious irony of why Lee even needs the endorsement of “special guests” Matt Gaetz & Lauren Boebert. This week on “Amendment Time”, we’ve got the 20th Amendment. This one change the dates of term beginnings & endings for certain offices. Originally both transition on March 4th of the year after the election, the Congress & the Presidency transition on January 3rd & January 20th of the following year, respectively. This was done the reduce the length of the “lame duck” period in such offices.
