When Obedience is Hard!

from Go When God Calls · host Angie Wheeler Sibia

Obedience isn’t always easy, it often means stepping into the unknown, waiting longer than we want, or letting go of something we love without knowing what comes next. In this episode, I share a personal story of how God spoke to me about a transition I didn’t understand at the time, but later, I could see His perfect plan unfolding. Trusting God’s voice, even when it doesn’t make sense, is one of the hardest yet most rewarding parts of our faith journey. "To obey is better than sacrifice." – 1 Samuel 15:22 I’ve been thinking a lot about how obedience isn’t just about saying yes—it’s about trusting that God’s plan is better than our own. Sometimes, He calls us to wait, sometimes to step forward, but always to trust. If you’ve ever struggled with obedience, this episode is for you. We’ll dive into Scripture, talk about the real challenge of trusting God, and explore practical ways to walk in obedience, even when it’s hard. Scriptures in This Episode: 1 Samuel 15:22 – "To obey is better than sacrifice." John 14:15 – "If you love me, keep my commandments." Genesis 12:1-4 – The story of Abraham stepping out in faith without knowing the full plan. Philippians 2:8 – "He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross!" What to Do When Obedience is Hard: Acknowledge the struggle—be honest with God about your fears. Ask for His help—you don’t have to do it alone. Take the next step—you don’t need the whole picture, just one step. Remember His faithfulness—He has led you before, and He will lead you again. Find encouragement—surround yourself with people who will remind you of His goodness. Obedience may be hard, but it is always worth it. There is peace in knowing you are walking in God’s will, and there is purpose in every step, even when you don’t see it yet. Join Us for the Go Missionary Network Webinar!
