The very walls you build to protect yourself can easily become your cage. It’s so easy to talk ourselves out of our biggest dreams, avoid taking risks, and stay exactly where we are, telling ourselves we are just being safe. In this second episode, I share my journey of growing up in an unstable environment. From escaping childhood trauma to chasing a dream of moving abroad, my brain did exactly what it needed to do to keep me going: it shut down my emotions. But the same coping mechanisms that saved me in an unpredictable childhood became a cage in adulthood, blocking me from taking risks and fully living.
