When Severe ED Strikes Younger Men: Dr. Mistry Explains the Many Options for Diagnosing and Treating ED

This listener explains, "I have tried the Swiss wave treatment, TRT (testosterone replacement therapy), and pills for my erectile dysfunction. Is there a way to get erections like when I was 18 years old? I am only 41 now."Dr. Mistry discusses each of these treatments, including the Swiss wave or shockwave therapy, which uses a targeted ultrasound technology to help rejuvenate the tissues of the penis and achieve erections. Also discussed are treatment options for severe erectile dysfunction which has not responded to medication or shockwave therapies. These include the use of a vacuum erection device, intracavernosal injections (an effective mix of medications injected into the side of the penis for a quality erection), and an inflatable penile prosthesis. Importantly, Dr.  Mistry reminds us that erectile dysfunction,  particularly in younger men, can  be a sign of underlying heart issues, abnormal blood sugars, and nerve damage and should be evaluated thoroughly.
