When Suffering Come to Fellowship

We all try to avoid it. We beg and plead at times for a cup of suffering to pass from us. Some teachings even frown upon suffering, denying that God's best is not being received. But Scripture makes it clear that suffering comes, whether through affliction or persecution, it comes. Suffering is never more clear than in our Savior and His atonement for our sins. When I think about it, it seems arrogant to believe that we are entitled to not suffer. Thank God that in the midst of it, God comforts us. He gives us peace and the promise of eternal life.
