When the Body Speaks What the Soul Feels
from Bible Highlights · host Cleandro Viana
When the Body Speaks What the Soul Feels“Have mercy on me, Lord, for I am weak; heal me, Lord, for my bones are in agony.” - Psalm 6:2. Sometimes the pain we feel in our body doesn’t start in the body — it starts in the soul. The psalmist David was wasting away, both physically and spiritually. He doesn’t mention what kind of sickness he had, but he says his bones were troubled. It was as if the pain had passed through his flesh and reached his heart. Maybe you know that feeling. Maybe no one sees what you’re going through, but deep inside… you’re tired. Tired of failing, tired of pretending to be fine, tired of smiling when your heart is screaming.David didn’t try to hide anything from God. He didn’t say, “Lord, I can handle it.” He said, “Lord, I am weak. Have mercy on me.” That’s the first step toward spiritual healing — recognizing that strength doesn’t come from us, but from Him.Sometimes God allows pain to come so it can awaken our conscience, break our pride, and remind us that without Him, life dries up… withers… fades — like a plant without water. But there is hope. The same God who allows the pain is the God who heals. The same God who corrects is the One who embraces. He never rejects a broken heart. The sickness may touch the body, but if your soul is resting in God’s arms, there will be comfort — there will be peace.Christ also knew that pain. He felt the weight of human guilt, even though He was innocent. But it was precisely because of that that today you can say, “Lord, heal me.” And He can heal not only your body — but your tired soul, your wounded heart, your anxious mind.Today, if you feel weak, troubled, or weary, don’t run from God’s presence — run to it. Don’t hide your wounds — surrender them. Ask Him to heal you, inside and out. Say like David: “Lord, have mercy on me.” And believe — He hears, He heals, He restores. The change you long for begins the moment you surrender.
