When the Church WAS a Family: God’s Voice Through Scripture Was The Mediator of Truth

Date: June 14, 2020 Passage: Galatians 2: 11-19 In a community where division is drawn along racial lines, the Gospel becomes the anchor to free us from our self-righteous attitudes. Summary: Recapturing the heart of what God wanted for His community—the sons and daughters that He redeemed. The attitude and heart of what it looks like to be THE church family.     Purpose: In our Western concept of individualism and self-autonomy we tend to view a community as a placed where we come to draw something out of it for our own personal good. The heart of community that God intended was to surround the people with the joyous Good news of Jesus, and from there build a community that submits, endures, loves, and grow with one another. We’re going to peak into the heart of God and see what He intended a community that bears His name to look like.
