WHEN THE HEART AGREES

When the Heart Agrees We talked last week about Romans 8:28 and how God is working in the middle of our pain, confusion, heartache, and even our failures. God showed us that even the hard places of life are never wasted in His hands. Every wrong turn can become wisdom. Every valley can grow strength. Every scar can become a testimony that helps someone else keep from falling in the same area of life. That verse reminds us that God is always working things together for good. But the more I pondered on that promise, the more I realize verse 28 does not stand alone. There is no “all things work together for good” without first understanding what happens in verse 27. Romans 8:27 says, “And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.” That verse brings us back to the heart.
